Constellations, Moon Phases & Stars on Black | Made in Italy

A deep black silk twill, on which fine constellations, moon phases, and astronomical symbols stretch across the fabric like a historical star chart. The cream-colored drawings create a calm contrast to the dark background and are particularly clear due to the smooth surface of the silk. The twill has the typical diagonal weave for this type of fabric, a soft feel, and a flowing drape. As a silk twill repeat, the 73 × 124 cm panel is particularly interesting for patterns where a specific motif is to be deliberately placed.

Use

The astronomical design is particularly suitable for elegant garments and accessories where the placed pattern is part of the design:

Sewing & Processing

Silk twill can be neatly processed with a fine, sharp needle and fine polyester thread. For particularly fine seams, a Microtex needle in size 60–70 is recommended. When cutting, the repeat motif must be taken into account and positioned on the pattern before cutting.

Since silk can be sensitive to pulling and fraying, clean cutting with sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and the most gentle processing possible are recommended. For a garment with strong tension, the pattern construction should be adjusted accordingly.
